Times Square Stabbing Claims Life Of Bank Of America Vice President

Vice-president of Bank of America Erin Piacenti was stabbed to death late on Monday afternoon in Times Square, New York City.

Another 68-year-old man, who is hospitalized and in stable condition, was stabbed by the suspect, a woman brandishing knives. On Tuesday, Piacenti’s identity was established.

The stabbings occurred 20 seconds apart, according to Jessica Tisch, commissioner of the New York Police Department (NYPD), who called the attack “unprovoked.”

“A witness at the scene told investigators that he observed the subject remove two knives from a red Target bag before approaching the first victim,” Tisch said at a press conference.

“The subject waved the knives before stabbing a 68-year-old man in the right side of his abdomen, in what appears to be a random and unprovoked attack.”

According to reports, the suspect, Pamela Cisneros, 49, proceeded down Seventh Avenue toward 42nd Street, where she stabbed Piacenti, 32, who subsequently passed away in the hospital.

The attacker was later shot by police after she charged at them and refused to put down her weapons. The hospital later declared her dead.

It is truly heartbreaking and deeply sad that a fellow woman chose to take another woman’s life based on her gender. Such acts of violence highlight the urgent need for greater understanding, empathy, and support among women to prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future.
