Ahead of the 2027 elections, Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham gave an explanation for her decision to decline membership in the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign council.
In a post on 𝕏, Abraham clarified her decision in response to a user who said it would prevent bullying.
The actress claimed that no one’s pressure or bullying had anything to do with her choice.
She clarified that after learning that her name had been added to a list without her knowledge, she decided to take the action because she thought it was the right thing to do.
She wrote: “I didn’t do it because of any bully. I did it because it was the right thing to do. I woke up and saw my name on a list I knew absolutely nothing about. Moreover, I’ve already said it, I’m not interested in politics.”
I believe that Toyin Abraham has every right to accept or reject any opportunity or appointment that comes her way. Ultimately, it is her personal decision, and she should be free to choose what aligns best with her values and aspirations. Respecting her choice is important, as everyone has the right to make decisions that they believe are best for themselves.
