The last son of Afrobeat icon Fela Kuti, Seun Kuti, has finally responded to the widely circulated rumors that he stormed out of Peller’s wedding.
Social media reports claim that after one of the MCs made jokes about the contentious “Wizkid is bigger than Fela” debate, Seun stormed out of the event.
Seun was heard saying, “We are in the wrong place,” as he was seen departing in a widely shared video.
One of the MCs came out to accuse Seun of having anger management issues, which caused controversy on the internet.
Finally responding to the rumors, Seun Kuti denied leaving the ceremony out of rage after being confronted by Fuji singer Malaika at Fela’s Shrine in Lagos.
When confronted by Malaika, Seun said; “I left the Peller’s wedding about 8:30 pm. I came to the Shrine. There’s an event at the Shrine and I have to be there. But bloggers were saying I left angrily. Was I supposed to be dancing when I was hurriedly leaving the place for another event?”
