Rick Ross Arrested Amid Domestic Battery And Strangulation Allegations

Days after an ex-girlfriend accused the rapper of physical abuse, he was taken into custody in Miami Beach on Thursday.

According to Miami Beach police, Rick Ross has been taken into custody on suspicion of domestic abuse.

The rapper was arrested on Thursday at 6:10 a.m. local time at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. He is charged with one felony count of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor count of battery.

Miami-Dade jail and court records show that the bond has been set at $6,000.

Details of the alleged incident and the circumstances leading up to Ross’s arrest have not been disclosed by local authorities. Additionally, they failed to identify the purported victim.

“He saw a punching bag,” she wrote on an Instagram story after sharing images of a swollen lip that she said was caused by Ross. Alongside the picture she wrote: “The day Rick busted my lip and the day I left.”

“I don’t know a lot of things, but I do know that a man that puts his hands on me, is a man that never loved me and never will,” Kendrick posted over another image.

“It’s always good until it isn’t,” she said. “If a man hits you one time, he will do it again. Don’t give him the opportunity. Value your life and leave.”

Local court records say that Ross has retained attorney Bradley Horenstein. His arraignment is set for 22 October.
