Biodun Oyebanji, the governor of Ekiti State, has stated that he constantly looks to God for divine direction in leading the state to achieve economic prosperity and peace.
In order to ensure that his administration did not fail or falter, Oyebanji said that his vision to make Ekiti a land of prosperity had been primarily pursued through adherence to the principles of honesty and transparency while seeking God’s guidance.
The governor gave a speech on Friday at the August Evening of Praise, which was hosted at the Government House Grounds in the state capital of Ado Ekiti, on behalf of his deputy, Mrs. Monisade Afuye.
Oyebanji informed the assembly that his administration, which took office in 2022, was motivated by the goal of using its six-point agenda to turn the state into a prosperous place.
He said, “The Evening of Praise was not just conceptualised as a gathering for funfair, but to seek divine direction that can save the people from economic doldrums, poverty and lift Ekiti to the pedestal of prosperity and greatness I had dreamt for the state.”
“We thank God that this programme has been yielding positive results on the economic situation of the state and thus bringing peace to our people. Ekiti has been able to make it this far owing to God’s direction.
“I commend our cabinet members for sharing this vision with us that God should be given a pride of place in our leadership. I charge other citizens who live within Ado Ekiti and its environs to kindly attend subsequent editions.
“Our vision is to make this state great. We put in our little efforts and we are achieving greatness because God is on our side and he knows that we accord Him the respect that He deserves.”
No one who truly relies on God ever ends up disappointed. When we put our trust in him, he makes everything easy and possible, guiding us through challenges and opening doors we never imagined. Faith in God is the assurance that no matter the circumstances, his power and grace will see us through and bring about the best outcomes.
