RCCG Make Big Move With Huge Donation To Rescue Nigerians From South Africa
The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) contributed $265,854 to the evacuation of Nigerians who were being attacked by xenophobes and Afrophobes in South Africa, according to information released by the Federal Government.
The minister of Foreign affairs spokesperson Oluwafemi Adeniyi in a press release revealed the information.
The government praised Pastor Enoch Adeboye for providing money to buy 500 one-way tickets for stranded Nigerians and thanked the church for its kind donation.
“The Ministry regards this donation as a significant demonstration of RCCG’s compassion, solidarity and genuine commitment to providing succour to distressed and stranded Nigerians who are faced with the scourges of Xenophobia and Afrophobia in South Africa,” the statement read.
The Ministry claims that the gesture further illustrates how faith-based organizations and public institutions can work together to address social issues and further the common good.
