Nollywood actress Queen Temitope Oluwa has denied rumors of a wild premarital lifestyle that she attributes to her late brother-in-law, revealing that she was still a virgin at the time of her engagement.
“When I got engaged, I was a virgin. Apparently, his brother told him that I fixed being a Lagos Island babe. That’s a lie,” she said.
“Now, the brother is late. I would have asked him where I can fix it because I really need to fix it now. He said I couldn’t be a virgin and all.”
“There was a time that the brother called me to come and see him, and I went there. There was this other lady; she actually looked like me. We both took pictures with him. I thought she was family,” she said.
“We took the pictures, and I left, only for him to send the pictures to my husband, asking, ‘What does Queen have that she doesn’t have?’”
“You know, I was never married, and I wasn’t ready to go. This was more of my parents’ thing. He is someone they know very well, and he also lives in the US,” she said.
“I was like 22 or 23 during this incident. I would call him and cry because that wasn’t my plan or dream. I didn’t want to be married then.
“But I’m married now, and I believe once I’m married, that’s it.
“You cannot just leave me at home and not show love for days, then come back. I will leave. So, I left.”
Oluwa claimed in a recent episode of the “Talk to B” podcast that her husband’s brother had spread untrue information about her past, allegedly telling her husband that she was a “Lagos Isladnd babe,” a term used in the area to characterize a promiscuous or materialistic woman.
Singles should remember that marriage is a personal journey and not a race to be won. There is no right or wrong time to settle down, and societal pressures should not dictate your happiness or self-worth. Embrace your individual path, focus on personal growth, and trust that the right time for marriage will come when you are truly ready. Your worth is not defined by marriage status, and taking the time to prioritize your passions and well-being is always a valid choice.
