The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Osun, Bola Oyebamiji, has acknowledged the poll results and urged party members to unite before the 2027 elections.
The Accord candidate, Ademola Adeleke, was proclaimed the winner of the governorship contest on August 15.
Oyebamiji thanked the APC members for supporting his campaign and praised their “sacrifices, resilience, prayers and unwavering belief” in him in a statement released on Saturday.
Additionally, he thanked Adegboyega Oyetola, the minister of marine and blue economy, Bisi Akande, the former governor of Osun, and President Bola Tinubu for their advice and assistance.
He said;
“While we accept the outcome of the election and congratulate the winner, we cannot forget the painful incidents of violence and the lives that were lost.”
“I mourn every victim of political violence and stand in solidarity with their families.
“I call on the relevant security agencies to thoroughly investigate these incidents and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. No political contest should cost any Nigerian their life.”
“Justice and fairness through lawful and constitutional means”.
“As we now turn our attention to the 2027 general election, I call on every APC member and supporter to close ranks, strengthen our structures and rededicate ourselves to the task ahead.”
“Our immediate responsibility is to mobilise for the re-election of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the success of all our candidates in Osun state.”
This development is truly heartwarming. We sincerely hope that both parties will put aside their differences and work together harmoniously to build a better and more prosperous Osun. With cooperation and unity, there is great potential to transform the state into a wonderful place for all its residents.
