Osun On High Alert: Governor Calls For Enhanced Security Measures

Amidst planned terrorist attacks on places of worship throughout the state, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued an order for a security review and called for public vigilance.

The governor, who is currently on vacation in Europe, urged citizens, especially those living in border communities, to report any suspicious people or unusual movements to security agencies right away in a statement released on Sunday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.

The governor emphasized the importance of community intelligence in mitigating security threats and promised to call a meeting of the State Security Council upon his return in order to assess the situation and improve the state’s defensive plan.

“We must provide the police and other security agencies with timely intelligence on any noticeable threats in our communities.

“Given the alleged plots targeting our places of worship, we must remain extra vigilant and report anything unusual without delay,” Adeleke said.

In order to protect people and property, the governor urged other security agencies to review their operational plans and praised the Department of State Services (DSS) for taking proactive measures.

In order to help identify unidentified visitors and secure their domains, he also urged traditional rulers to call local council meetings.

Governor Adeleke reiterated his administration’s dedication to maintaining peace after the election, pledging that the state apparatus will act vigorously to thwart any attempts by terrorists or bandits to disturb public order.
