Prior to her white wedding with fellow TikTok star Peller, Nigerian TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, better known by her stage name as Jarvis, has offered marriage advice.
The TikTok influencer advised young people in Nigeria to wait to get married until they are financially secure.
Jarvis advised prospective spouses to spread out their white, traditional weddings over several years in order to save costs.
Speaking in a recent livestream, Jarvis said, “If you don’t have money, don’t get married. Don’t try it, I beg you.
“But if you are planning of getting married, you can share it by doing traditional wedding this year and do the white wedding the next year.
“We almost postponed our wedding, but even if we put it in the next 50 years, we are never going to prepare for the wedding.”
If you can’t afford an elaborate wedding, there’s no need to stretch beyond your means.
Some friends and close family members can come together to celebrate your special day, and that’s perfectly fine.
Remember, it’s not about how grand your wedding is, but about the love and commitment you share. Don’t do more than you can afford—there’s a whole life ahead after the wedding, and building a happy, stable future matters more than a lavish celebration.
