Man Uses Cable Wire To Punish Toddler Over Morning Greeting

A man who allegedly abused his two-year-old daughter in Delta State has been apprehended by filmmaker and human rights activist Stanley Ajemba, also known as Stanley Ontop.

The suspect, an Okija native from Anambra State, was taken into custody in the Okpanam community of Delta State on Thursday morning, August 27, 2026, after his wife reported that their toddler, Blessing Obi, was being severely abused.

The incident happened soon after the family’s morning prayers, according to the victim’s mother. According to reports, the two-year-old minor’s perceived disobedience of a greeting caused the suspect to turn violent. After tying her hand with wire, he flogged her mercilessly with another wire.

It is difficult to determine whether this man was under some kind of spell or simply intoxicated at the time of the incident. Regardless of the circumstances, beating a helpless toddler for not greeting you is utterly unacceptable and heinous. Such actions are a clear violation of the child’s rights and deserve severe punishment. It is crucial that justice is served to ensure the safety and well-being of the child and to send a strong message that abuse of this nature will not be tolerated in our society.
