Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, paid Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the former minister of power, a visit on Friday to express his condolences for the kidnapping of his sister and her twin sons in Ibadan.
The governor consoled the family during the visit by expressing concern over the incident and reassuring them that security personnel were working to ensure the victims’ safe release.
Additionally, Makinde promised that the state government would make every effort to find, capture, and prosecute those responsible for the kidnapping.
The governor’s visit coincides with escalating worries about criminal activity and insecurity in some areas of the state, as well as fresh demands for more robust measures to safeguard people and property.
The governor was received by the former minister’s family and associates, who expressed gratitude for the gesture and hope that the kidnapped victims would be found unharmed.
Additionally, they demanded that security agencies keep up their efforts to guarantee the victims’ safe return and enhance statewide security.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Adelabu family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we earnestly hope that the sister and her twin sons are found safe and brought home alive. May strength and hope guide them through this challenging period.
