Senator Orji Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, has stated that in order to achieve sustainable economic growth in Nigeria, more investment and more effective measures to combat insecurity are necessary.

Additionally, he declared that Nigeria is a single nation and that he will keep praying and advocating for its unification until the day he passes away.

At the conclusion of his visit to Sokoto State, where he commissioned ten road projects carried out by the Aliyu administration in the Arkilla New Layout, Kalu made this statement while accepting a memento from Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu.

According to a statement issued by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto, Abubakar Bawa, Kalu said insecurity was hindering Nigeria’s quest for a stronger economy.

“The current insecurity in the country is hindering Nigeria’s quest for a more vibrant economy capable of improving the living conditions of its citizens.

“What this country needs is economic expansion so that there can be money, prosperity and goodness for Nigerians. This is what the country needs.”

“Things might look difficult today. Yes, as you can see, I am an industrialist. The macroeconomy is doing well, but the microeconomy is not doing well. I told the President this.”

Kalu expressed optimism that with the right investment in security, “the gains of the economy would be enjoyed by all Nigerians”, adding, “Nigeria is one, and I will continue to pray and plead for the unity of this country until I die.”

It is truly impressive that Kalu is steadfast in his dedication to praying for Nigeria’s unity. His unwavering commitment reflects a deep sense of patriotism and hope for the nation’s future, inspiring others to also work towards a united and prosperous Nigeria.
