The Independent National Electoral Commission started uploading polling unit results to the INEC Result Viewing (IREV) portal just three hours after voting in the ongoing Ekiti State governorship election ended.
As of 5:02 pm on Saturday, results from about 489 polling units had been uploaded, representing approximately 20 per cent of the total.
The 16 local government areas have roughly 2445 polling places, with Ado Ekiti having the most (344) and Ilejemeje having the fewest (91).
As of this report, the Ado Ekiti local government had uploaded results from roughly 113 polling places to the portal, whereas only three polling places in Ekiti East had done the same.
As the curtains close on another successful electoral cycle, it is only fitting to extend our sincerest appreciation to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their unwavering dedication to electoral excellence. Kudos to INEC for consistently pushing the boundaries of innovation, transparency, and efficiency in the conduct of elections. Their tireless efforts have not only earned them the respect of the nation but have also set a shining example for electoral bodies around the world.
We commend their commitment to reform and celebrate their achievements, knowing that their hard work has paved the way for a brighter, more inclusive future for all Nigerians.
