“I Know My Worth” — Mo Abudu On Love And Heartbreak

Published on

Speaking candidly about her personal life, media mogul Mo Abudu stated that she cannot bear heartbreak over a man her age.

The 62-year-old stated in an interview with Toke Makinwa that if she ever cries, it will be due to work rather than a romantic relationship.

“Heartbreak. Nobody can break my heart. It’s not possible. Heartbreak. There’s no such thing as heartbreak at my age. If I cry, it’s not because of a man. It may be because of my work,” she said.

“Listen, you cannot make a man be in a relationship with you. If he wants to be, he will. If he doesn’t want to be in it, he’s kidding you. Leave him. Move on. He doesn’t want to be there.”

“You have to get over it, because you need to read the writing, guys. It is easy. Because don’t downgrade yourself in front of anybody. And to young girls, don’t downgrade yourself. He will sleep with you. He will deceive you. He will lie to you, and you’re still there. Doing what? Pressure of what? Or be with a man, a man who doesn’t want you?

“You know in your gut that he’s messing around. True. Because he hasn’t called you for two weeks. He’s ghosting you. He’s telling you he’s busy doing what? Chasing somebody else.

“If you see those kinds of people, leave them alone. Those types of people don’t want you. Please, ladies,” she added.

I love that Mo Abudu knows her worth and carries herself with such confidence. Considering all she has achieved, the challenges she has overcome and the life experience she has gained, she can say with conviction that she has moved beyond that stage—she knows who she is, and nothing can shake her.
