Celebrity chef Hilda Baci has taken aim at trolls who make fun of her 15-year-old brother due to his weight.
Hilda claims that a harmless and enjoyable moment between siblings was stolen from her Snapchat page, reposted, and used as a platform for teenagers to make fun of one another.
She wrote:
“I never imagined that a lighthearted video with my 15-year old brother would be taken from my Snapchat, reposted across different platforms, and turned into an excuse to bully a child.
Some of you have left cruel comments. Others have gone as far as editing his photos to make him look bigger just to get a few laughs.
Read that again.
Adults are editing the image of a 15 year old boy and publicly mocking him.
My brother did nothing except exist in a funny video with his sister.
If your idea of entertainment is tearing down a child, then that’s a reflection of your character, not his.”
“He’s kind. He’s loved. He’s growing, learning, and becoming the amazing young man I know he will be. No hateful comment or edited photo will ever change that.”
“I hope, before you type another insult or share another edited image, you remember that there is a real teenager on the other side of your screen reading what you write.
Do better.”
In a separate statement, Hilda reiterated that her brother is deeply cherished by his family and urged trolls to reflect on their actions.
Hilda said:
“David is 15. He is loved, deeply valued, fiercely protected, and we are immensely proud of the young man he is becoming. He is brilliant, kind, respectful, and has an entire family committed to giving him the freedom to grow, evolve, make mistakes, discover himself, and become everything he is capable of becoming.
I cannot say the same for some of you.
It takes a particular kind of emptiness to hide behind anonymous accounts, edit the photos of a child, and ridicule him for the entertainment of strangers.
David will be just fine. He is surrounded by love, affirmation, and people who know his worth.
The real tragedy is growing into an adult who finds purpose in bullying a child. That is a far heavier burden to carry than anything you have tried to project onto my brother. Bloody losersss!!!!!!”
It’s unfortunate how some people are quick to use any situation for content, regardless of the impact on others. Mocking a 15-year-old boy simply because of his stature is not only unkind but also a form of bullying.
How do they expect the boy to feel in such moments? Instead of tearing others down, we should promote kindness and understanding, especially towards young individuals still figuring out their self-worth.
