GOD IS CALLING FOR YOUR BOAT

God is always giving people opportunities, often in quiet and simple ways, yet many do not recognise them. Because of this, many miss the moment when God is calling them to step forward. Though His grace is available to all, it is the willing and attentive who truly take hold of what He offers (Isaiah 55:6).

In Luke 5:1–7, Jesus saw two boats by the shore, and He chose Simon Peter’s boat. He asked him to push it out a little so He could speak to the people. Peter had laboured all night and caught nothing. He was tired and could have refused, but he chose to say yes. He gave Jesus his boat, even when it was inconvenient. That simple act became the doorway to something greater.

After Jesus finished speaking, He told Peter to go deeper and let down his nets again (Luke 5:4). It did not make sense, yet Peter obeyed. This time, the catch was so great that the nets began to break. This reveals a powerful truth: when we place what we have in God’s hands, He turns emptiness into abundance.

Throughout Scripture, God works through what people are willing to offer. Moses had a rod in his hand, and God used it to display His power (Exodus 4:2). A young boy gave five loaves and two fish, and it became more than enough to feed thousands (John 6:9–13). The widow gave her last portion, and God sustained her through famine (1 Kings 17:12–16). In each case, it was not the size of what they had that mattered, but their willingness to release it to God.

Today, God is still calling for “boats.” Your boat may be your voice, your influence, your skill, or your platform.

The question is not whether you have something to give, but whether you are willing to release it to Him. Scripture teaches in Romans 12:1 that we are to offer ourselves completely to God. This means holding nothing back. Those who discern God’s opportunities do not wait to calculate what they will gain. They respond in obedience because they trust Him (Proverbs 3:5–6).

In this generation, God has placed something powerful in our hands—digital media. Many use it for entertainment, but it is also a tool through which lives can be reached and transformed. In Acts 1:8, Jesus said we would be His witnesses to the ends of the earth. Today, that mission is unfolding in ways never seen before.

Yet much of what fills these spaces does not build or give life. It may attract attention, but it lacks substance. As followers of Christ, we are called to be light (Matthew 5:14–16). We are called to release truth, hope, and encouragement into the world. You may never stand on a pulpit, but you have a voice. Every post, every message, and every expression can reflect Jesus. Colossians 3:17 reminds us to do everything in His name.

God is not searching for perfection. He is looking for willingness. Peter was not perfect, but he was willing, and his willingness positioned him for transformation. The same is true today. Jesus said that whoever acknowledges Him before others, He will acknowledge before the Father (Matthew 10:32).

Do not hold back what you have. Do not dismiss it as small or insignificant (Zechariah 4:10). Do not ignore the call. Give Him your boat, and you will discover that what is placed in His hands will grow into something far greater than you imagined (Ephesians 3:20).

Remain blessed

QUOTES

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.
― Walter Mosley, Blue Light

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
