From US To Naija: Ike Onyeama’s Freedom Journey And BBNaija Jackpot

Published on

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate Ike Onyeama claims that his participation in the 2019 “Pepper Dem” season earned him about N3 million.

In a recent interview, he cited the freedom to pursue business opportunities as another reason for his decision to move from the United States to Nigeria.

Raised in the United States, Onyeama discussed his time in the house, his regrets, and his journey as an entrepreneur in Nigeria after the show.

““The first time, I can’t remember. It shouldn’t be more than N4 million. It should be N3 million plus. All those challenges na N500,000, N300,000.”

“That place (US) is sweet, like I miss it everyday but people would not understand it until they go there… the freedom we have here is not like anywhere else in the world. Anything you want to do in Nigeria is possible.”

“Like I sell drinks here, to get my Liquor licence, I just had to talk to a few people who could make a few contacts at the government office, do one or two things and I got my liquor licence, my store, everything quick.”

“When I was in US, trying to get my liquor licence, do you know how many months, and how many years I applied and how many times they rejected me. So, the freedom here is sweet.

“But to make that money the way you want it, you have to think and work very harder you know. It was when I came to Nigeria that I learnt how to struggle.”

We truly enjoy life in Nigeria, a country where many essentials and opportunities come with minimal cost. Unlike some nations where you have to pay for basic needs like water, here we experience a sense of freedom and abundance that makes everyday living more vibrant and fulfilling.
