Faye Of Senegal Appointed As New Chairperson Of ECOWAS

President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone has been replaced as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) by Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye.

President Faye officially assumed the rotating chairmanship of the regional bloc during the announcement of the leadership change at the ECOWAS Authority meeting.

In the meantime, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray has been replaced as President of the ECOWAS Commission by Biram Diop.

Congratulations to Faye on his appointment as the new Chairperson of ECOWAS. Wishing him success in leading the organization towards greater unity, development, and stability across West Africa. Your leadership is sure to inspire positive change and progress for the region.
