Diezani Responds To UK Court’s Acquittal

Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former minister of petroleum resources, has responded to being found not guilty of bribery by the Southwark Crown Court in London.

Five charges of accepting bribes and one count of conspiring to commit bribery were dropped against the former minister on Wednesday.

Speaking in an interview with News Central, the former minister said the case had taken a heavy emotional toll on her, her relatives and close associates.

“I’m just thankful to God, it’s been arduous, almost 11 years. It’s been traumatic not just for me but for my family, friends, my 93-year-old mother in Port Harcourt and for my son.”

“For almost 11 years I have been here. I did my job to the best of my ability.”

“It has been a hard journey, but I tell you this, God will always do as he will. God will be God and God is not a man that he should lie; when he promises you something, he will see it through.”

We are genuinely happy for her and her household, celebrating this moment of victory. Truly, God has come through for her, demonstrating His justice and mercy. This uplifting outcome reminds us that faith and perseverance can lead to divine intervention and hope for all.

QUOTES

We are not trapped or locked up in these bones. No, no. We are free to change. And love changes us. And if we can love one another, we can break open the sky.

QUOTES

Power is of two kinds. One is obtained by the fear of punishment and the other by acts of love. Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent then the one derived from fear of punishment." - Mahatma Gandh
