Akinmoyewa Mercy Oluwaseun, a Deeper Life Bible Church bride, responded to criticism on social media regarding her choice of wedding gown.

Mercy, who got married on Saturday, October 10, has been under fire from people who said the dress was too revealing and “immodest.”

She wrote in response to the critics:

“For your information, I wore a fully lined mermaid wedding dress. I was very intentional about it. I preach modesty but make una try to dey know fashion small small.”

Ultimately, her wedding dress was modest and stylish—it wasn’t revealing or transparent. She has shown that a woman can look beautiful and classy while still dressing modestly. She was a bride celebrating one of the biggest days of her life, and she had the right to choose a gown that made her feel happy and confident. If her church and pastors had no issue with it, why should others? Rather than criticising her, let’s allow her to enjoy her special day.
