Chiwetalu Agu Emphasizes The Importance Of Character Over Virginity In Marriage

Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu shared a message encouraging people to look beyond outward qualities when choosing a life partner before discussing how to choose the right partner for marriage.

Sharing his thoughts, he said:
“Keeping your virg!nity does not automatically make you wife material. Don’t marry a woman simply because she is a v!rgin, and vice versa.
V!rginity signifies purity, not loyalty, good character, emotional intelligence or emotional maturity. The same thing applies to women. Don’t marry a man simply because he is a virg!n, handsome, wealthy or successful. For the sake of your life, peace, happiness and sanity, choose someone whose character has been tested and proven. Ask questions oo. Marry someone who genuinely connects with you, someone who is kind, respectful, loving, emotionally mature and committed to building a healthy relationship.

‘If you find a partner who is a virg!n and also loyal, kind, emotionally mature, respectful, of good character and God-fearing, then you are truly fortunate in life. But remember, character is the foundation of a lasting marriage. Everything else is secondary.”

Character is the foundation of a person’s life and success. It reflects who you are and influences every aspect of your journey. A strong, positive character can open doors, build lasting relationships, and earn genuine respect.

Ultimately, your character will take you places far beyond material achievements, guiding you toward a meaningful and fulfilling life.
