Blessing CEO’s Trial Hits Pause As She Falls Ill Behind Bars

Published on

Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, is a social media star and relationship coach. On Wednesday, her attorney told the court that she was too sick to appear and was being held in custody, which caused a hiccup in her trial.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC, has brought two charges against her before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, alleging that she stole N36 million and collected money under false pretenses.

P.I. Nwafuru, her attorney, informed the court that his client was ill and could not be brought in for the session when the case resumed for a second hearing.

Then, promising to present a medical report on her condition at the following meeting, he asked that the case be postponed.

The request was granted by Justice D.I. Dipeolu, who then rescheduled the trial for Monday, July 20, 2026.

According to some of the accusations against her, she obtained N36,000,000.00 from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye in Lagos between July 14 and 17, 2024, by making a false claim that she would rent out a six-bedroom detached duplex at No. 1B, Tunbosun Osobu Street, off Kuboye Road, Lekki, Lagos State. She allegedly knew this claim to be false. This is allegedly a violation of Section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offenses Act, 2006.

We sincerely wish Blessing a swift and smooth recovery. May she regain her strength and good health soon, and we hope to see her back on her feet in no time.
