APC Launches Powerhouse Leadership For 2027: Yari And Uzodimma Steering Tinubu’s Campaign

President Bola Tinubu established the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 General Elections, designating Senator Abdulaziz Yari, a former governor of Zamfara State, as director general and Hope Uzodimma, a governor of Imo State, as secretary.

A statement signed by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, details the council’s membership.

The campaign council will be chaired by President Tinubu, with Vise President Kashim Shettima serving as vise chairman. Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the national chairman of the APC, has also been named as vise chairman.

According to the statement, Senator Yari’s appointment puts him at the center of the party’s campaign apparatus.while Governor Uzodimma will coordinate the council’s secretariat as preparations intensify for the 2027 presidential contest.

The party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman were appointed Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary.

The campaign council will be supported by a team of senior political advisers comprising former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; veteran journalist and politician, Chief Segun Osoba; former Imo State governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha; former Nasarawa State governor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; and Senator Florence Ita Giwa.

The statement added that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, were appointed Deputy Directors-General for the South and North.
