At the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards, Afrobeats musician Davido won Album of the Year for his project 5IVE.
The announcement was posted on AFRIMMA’s Instagram page on Tuesday.
On September 12, 2026, Annette Strauss Square in Dallas, Texas, hosted the awards ceremony and music festival.
Davido received five nods, making him the most nominated artist of the year.
Other nominees in the category were Black Sherif for Top of The Morning Era, Omah Lay for Clarity of Mind, Asake for M$NEY, Tyla for A-Pop, Burna Boy for No Sign of Weakness, Lloyiso for Never Thought I Could, Leigh-Anne for My Ego Told Me To, and Himra for SORRY I’M BAD.
In addition to winning the album, Davido was nominated for Best Male West Africa, Artist of the Year, and the Crossing Boundaries With Music Award.
The 2026 AFRIMMA nominations highlight a successful year for African music on the continent and in the diaspora, with major categories featuring acts from the UK, South Africa, and West Africa.
