Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, a respected Yoruba leader and former head of the pan-Yoruba group Afenifere, has died at the age of 100.

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa confirmed his death in a statement issued on Tuesday in Akure. He described Fasoranti as a principled and devoted public servant whose life was marked by wisdom, integrity and a commitment to Nigeria, Ondo State and Yorubaland.

The governor said Fasoranti’s guidance and advocacy for justice and good governance would be deeply missed. He added that the elder statesman’s example of service and honour would continue to inspire future generations.

Aiyedatiwa extended his condolences to the Fasoranti family, the people of Akure Kingdom and residents across Ondo State.

We extend our sympathies to his loved ones and the Afenifere community. May they find comfort in their memories of him, and may he rest in peace.
