2027: Tinubu, APC Governors Gear Up For Crucial Election Showdown
Days after the All Progressives Congress (APC) announced its campaign council for the 2027 presidential election, President Bola Tinubu is meeting with governors chosen on the party’s platform at the State House in Abuja.
Before meeting with Tinubu behind closed doors, the governors attended a National Economic Council meeting presided over by Vice-President Kashim Shettima under the auspices of the Progressives Governors’ Forum.
Since the engagement was still ongoing at the time this report was filed, the agenda of the meeting with the President was not immediately made public.
The meeting takes place soon after the APC established its presidential campaign council for the 2027 election, designating Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary and former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari as director-general.
As it starts to get ready for the general election in 2027, the party has also announced plans to start up its electronic membership registration process nationwide.
Felix Morka, the APC National Publicity Secretary, has announced that the registration process will resume on Monday, August 31.
Tinubu’s renewed interaction with APC governors coincides with the ruling party’s increased organizational preparations for the 2027 election.
All hands are on deck as everyone collaborates and mobilizes efforts to ensure that their candidate emerges victorious in the upcoming general election. With unity, determination, and strategic planning, they are committed to securing a resounding win and shaping the future they aspire to build.
