Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright was born on March 31, 1967, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, to a Christian father and a Muslim mother. Over the years, she has openly embraced Islam and publicly identified herself as a Muslim.

The actress reaffirmed her faith in a 2024 social media post, where she wrote, “Alhamdulilah Robiliallamin that I am a Muslim,” while also extending Ramadan greetings to her followers.

3. Singer LAX “Caro”


Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter L.A.X, whose real name is Damilola Afolabi, is a practicing Muslim despite coming from a family with Christian affiliations.

The “Caro” crooner, who rose to fame through his collaboration with Wizkid, is the son of billionaire businessman Taiwo Afolabi, founder and CEO of Sifax Group, and Folashade Esther Afolabi. Reports indicate that while some members of his family, including his elder brother Olayinka Afolabi, are Christians, L.A.X has openly embraced Islam.

The singer further demonstrated his devotion to the faith when he celebrated his birthday in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, one of Islam’s holiest cities. Sharing photos from the spiritual trip, L.A.X expressed gratitude and revealed that marking his birthday in Mecca had long been a personal dream.

4. Priscilla Ojo


Priscilla Ojo, the daughter of popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, reportedly converted from Christianity to Islam following her marriage to Tanzanian music star Juma Jux.
